A beautiful day in Elbe Sächsische Schweiz National Park

It was a rainy day.
It was a sunny day.
And then it was a rainy day again.
And a sunny day again.
All in all it was a beautiful day...

Dresden Delights...

This past weekend - Saturday, I ventured to the capital of the Saxony state; Dresden.Within forty minutes, give or take,  on the train, I had arrived!

From the hustle and bustle of people shuffling along in the main Dresden Hbf(Hauptbahnhof aka train station), to the crowded streets, to the music blaring on loud speakers in the city center, to the historic baroque architecture, Dresden truly was quite the experience!

All set and ready to go!

But first, a girl's gotta eat ;-)
Doner Kebab's are pretty common this side of Germany
They are quick to make and quite filling!

It was a hot day, perfect to play around in the city water fountains
If only I was a kid again! - sigh
A glimpse of the street view
Saw lots of these around

a 360-degree view of the city square
Panoramic view
The famous Dresden Frauenkirche
This church is famous because it was reconstructed
after being destroyed in World War II.
One of the most beautiful churches in central Europe!

At the entrance Dresden Frauenkirche
Went on to the Bruhl's Terrace
Also nicknamed the "Balcony of Europe"
It provides he classic view of Dresden and the Elbe River
The view from across the balcony

Panoramic view from "The Balcony of Europe"
Gelato with a view, does it get any better?!

At the Elbe River :D

One more picture of the Elbe River - beautiful!

The Furstenzug
A large mural of the rulers of Saxony
Painted between 1871 and 187

This dude, doing the freeze thing for quite a while
and the dog too ;-)...haha!

Check out this mini-Spider man ;-P
Spotted near the Zwinger
The Zwinger
One of Dresden's most famous attractions.
Built in Rococo style, it was designed to serve as an exhibition and festival arena
This was probably my favorite site of them all
Tried to capture a panoramic view -meh!

The view from the balcony of one of the Zwinger buildings

Another view; across is the castle
Dresden Castle
One of the oldest buildings in Dresden
Also rebuilt after wartime bombings

Chilling in one of the Zwinger fountains

Dresden sure was delightful, it has so much to offer too! I have a feeling that I will be returning there soon. Watch this space ;)

Bis später!
